Devara is said to be based on the horrifying Karamchedu episode of 1985, in which ruthless attackers from the upper caste massacred several Dalits, injured numerous more, and left hundreds homeless. Saif and Jr. NTR both play dual roles in Devara, which sets up a huge fight between their characters.
