Vettaiyan: Rajinikanth’s Latest Film Delivers a Power-Packed Punch

Perhaps, this is the most zesty film from Tamil cinema after many years-a superstar performance by Rajinikanth. A showcase for both mass appeal and a strong social message, Vettaiyan is a treat for fans and critics alike as put together by director T.J. Gnanavel. Once again, in Vettaiyan, a thoughtfully crafted role brings out Thalaiva in him to bring out the charisma, energy, and mirth in his mannerisms.

A solid first half that paves the way for a blockbuster second half.

It is in the latter half that Vettaiyan completely comes in rocking and then continues on to give one heck of a message along with bringing high entertainment. Rajinikanth brings to life a character, very being of the protagonist, Vettaiyan by gliding from one action sequence to the emotional one. The social impact of storyline coupled with his screen presence makes Vettaiyan truly a must watch.

One of the biggest USPs of the film is the background score by Anirudh Ravichander. It is his score that adds loads to the film, mainly in the climax and emotional scenes. They bring out the usual intensity that has been seen in Rajinikanth films combined with the usual magic that Anirudh brings to his scores. Though the film did not have many memorable songs, it made up for that in terms of giving goosebumps moments because of Anirudh.

Excellent Support from the Cast

The supporting cast also deserves an applause. Amitabh Bachchan does a great job and lends seriousness to the film. Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan do well, and Dushara’s character is among the major strengths of the film. Such well-stitched roles add depth to the storyline while boosting the overall effect of the film.

Conclusion

Vettaiyan encapsulates the mass appeal of Rajinikanth with a meaningful social message pretty adequately. Despite a few issues and songs that are not worth notice, the movie goes quite well on account of Rajinikanth and a pulsating score by Anirudh. Thalaiva fans must watch Vettaiyan for all the reasons that prove Rajinikanth was well needed in this ambitious role.
