RTI Movie Review
RTI on ETV Win has been airing a short yet intense courtroom drama that has found an entry into the viewers’ hearts with its very strong core concept and powerful performances. Directed with a simple narrative and punch dialogues, this 80-minute film serves to be ideal for anyone who is interested in legal thrillers. The movie goes ahead and zeroes down upon the intricacies of the Right to Information Act and brings out the might of the law, or rather how it is searched for in a tainted system.
At the heart of “RTI” lies Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who plays a huge role in building up the film’s intensity. Her performance as a bold and resolute lawyer is appreciated not just for her acting skills but also because the character has resolve to fight for truth. Varalaxmi also shows exceptional performance that brings so much out of this movie beyond merely just being a courtroom drama or the study of a character with determination and moral power.
In reality, the basic concept of this movie is drawn from a sensitive and relevant issue—how people misuse (or use) the RTI Act to highlight corruption or injustice. This, again adds to the realism to the plot, and what is helpful quite a bit are the well-written dialogues in the courtroom sequences. The movie does not cultivate some unnecessary melodrama but instead relies on the complexities of law and justice, so it attracts an audience seeking a sharp, thought-provoking story.

The direction and screenplay assure a good tempo, despite a short run for the movie. Though it could have gotten a little more into some of the themes, the film has all the ingredients to tell a rather very gripping tale of legal battle afloat on the information power.
In a nutshell, “RTI” is a decent weekend watch as it has all the ingredients to appreciate legal dramas with a great storyline, powerful performances, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in a different role. The workings of the RTI Act has been very candidly presented and said, while it may not be a class film, undoubtedly, it takes its own space as an interesting courtroom drama.
