Indeed, this was the first Kollywood movie of 2024 to breach ₹20 crores in all four southern states-Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. This puts Vettaiyan on the list of the cinema market for southern India and brings in the long list of box office successes for Rajinikanth.

Superstar Rajinikanth, popularly called the “Thalaiva” of Tamil cinema, still attracts massive audiences with his electrifying performances. TN: As expected, home turf Tamil Nadu is leading the chart. Vettaiyan has crossed ₹20 crore in merely a few days of its release. Gripping storyline and magnetic screens from Rajinikanth drew in droves of the film.
Karnataka (KA): Vettaiyan also connected well with the Kannada speaking audience, thereby crossing the ₹20 crore mark. The fan base of Rajinikanth in Karnataka was always vocal and the success of the film in the region comes as something not surprising at all.
Kerala (KL): In Kerala, which happens to be a state for cinematic enjoyment, Vettaiyan crossed the ₹20 crore with the pan-Indian appeal of Rajinikanth.

Andhra Pradesh/Telangana (AP/TS): The Telugu-speaking audience has also showered love upon Vettaiyan. Though a pretty strong box office performance resulted in the movie crossing ₹20 crores, it was definitely a regional hit.
