The makers of Suriya’s eagerly awaited movie Kanguva have set a new release date in response to public criticism over a postponed release.
Kanguva, the most recent film from Tamil actor Suriya, has been the subject of much public discussion, but for the incorrect reasons.Suriya’s followers expressed extreme outrage when the producers decided to delay the film’s release. Ultimately, on Thursday, the producers announced that Kanguva will hit theaters worldwide on November 14 in various languages. A large holiday or long weekend may not help the movie, but the date selected allows the producer to achieve their main objective: a free box office window.
Producer KE Gnanavel Raja stated that they must choose a release date with minimal competition from other languages. This would enable him to acquire more screens across the board, including the Hindi belt. Kanguva will get a single release with the goal of controlling a sizable portion of big screens nationwide.
For this reason, the producers decided against releasing the film on October 10th, just one day after Superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan producers made the same decision.Both movies could secure over 1,000 screens in Tamil Nadu alone if released independently. On the other hand, a simultaneous release would divide the audience and the number of screens. Although the effect on Vettaiyan might not be too great, Kanguva might suffer because it’s the most expensive movie in Suriya’s career.
On November 14, no significant competition will challenge the Hindi box office, as two major releases, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, are scheduled for Diwali. North Indian viewers are showing great interest in Kanguva, with Bobby Deol playing the primary antagonist.
The goal of Kanguva is to become the first Tamil film to be successful across India. Kanguva is a fantasy historical drama film, written and directed by Siva, that stars Suriya in two roles.
