Non-Theatrical Rights Set High Standards: ₹425 Crore Pushpa 2: The Rule has been sold for the high price of ₹425 crore for non-theatrical rights. That indeed sets a new industry precedent. Every big platform and broadcaster is trying hard to bag the rights considering the factual enormously soaring popularity of Allu Arjun and the franchise of Pushpa.
The rights for the digital streaming of Pushpa 2 have been bagged by Netflix at a whopping ₹275 crore, making it one of the biggest deals in Indian cinema. The first part of the franchise was a hit on OTT platforms; hence the expectations for the sequel are sky-high.
Audio Rights: The audio rights of the film have been sold for ₹65 crore. Along with Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) coming back as the music director, the songs in the movie have added to the big deal.
Satellite Rights: The satellite rights of Pushpa 2 have been sold for ₹85 crore. Considering the film mass pan-India and it has huge reach in South, this amount really speaks volumes about the franchise’s popularity.
Theatrical Rights Break Records
The rights of Pushpa 2 for theatrical release have broken history by collecting a total of ₹640 crores. The entire states in India and abroad are waiting with great excitement to see the theatrical release of this film.
AP/TS: ₹220 crores have been collected from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and it says that Allu Arjun has got a huge fan base in these states.
Tamil Nadu: ₹50 crores has been collected from Tamil Nadu, which is an indicator of the pan-Indian appeal of the star.
Karnataka & Kerala: Karnataka and Kerala rights were sold for ₹30 crore and ₹20 crore.
North India: ₹200 crore from North India, which proves that this film has great volumes even beyond South India
Overseas: The overseas market is just as strong. Rights sold in this market at ₹120 crore. Proof that Allu Arjun is growing to be a potential star in the global scenario.
