Prabhas to Take on Dark Role in Prasanth Varma’s BrahmaRakshasa

South Indian superstar Prabhas is set to take his acting career to a new level with BrahmaRakshasa, an intense and complex character in the thriller to be directed by Prasanth Varma. This project was originally developed with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, and there had been production delays before it came on board with Prabhas.

A unique project with a dark twist

BrahmaRakshasa promises to deliver a highly cinematic experience with the story that goes into mythical themes and psychological elements. Prasanth Varma, known for his novel approach in films like Awe and Zombie Reddy, has written a tale of darker shades of humans, revenge, and mysticism. Prabhas, who was intrigued at the prospect of portraying an individual with negative shades, instantly connected with Varma’s vision for BrahmaRakshasa.

The role is quite a turn-around for Prabhas, who has mostly played heroic roles in movies such as Baahubali and Salaar. It will be interesting for fans as Prabhas ventures out into a darker character to showcase his talent and also willingness to experiment.

This movie will show Ranveer Singh, as how he transforms himself from Naani to Prabhas.

BrahmaRakshasa was first proposed to Ranveer Singh, but the production issues brought it to a stalemate. Varma then narrated the story to Prabhas. According to sources, since Prabhas has always been fascinated by larger-than-life characters, he got hooked by the intensity and depth of the character and thus decided to take up this project. Prabhas’s decision not only revives BrahmaRakshasa but also opens up the story to a wider audience across South India and beyond.
