The distributors sold the rights to Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time in Kerala for 17 Cr, expecting the movie to perform well given Vijay’s stronghold in Kerala. They needed a 45 Cr gross for the movie to break even, but the movie’s poor performance surprised everyone. It has only made about Rs 13 Cr in gross revenue, of which about 5.5 Cr is its portion.
The distributor faced a 12 Cr loss, marking the highest loss ever recorded for any language film in Kerala, including P&P. Although Kerala is typically Vijay’s stronghold, the audience has completely rejected the movie this time.
