Vijay’s The GOAT Worldwide Closing Collections: A Surprising Hit Despite Mixed Reviews

His latest sci-fi drama by Venkat Prabhu, The Greatest Of All Time The GOAT, has dared to conquer all the expectations because it opened as a commercial hit in most places, though critics have derived mixed or even negative responses. The profit for the overseas buyers turned out to be highly profitable in many overseas markets and Tamil Nadu. Again, Vijay’s strong box office pull seemed to have proved that he will never lose his track at the box office, as this marks his second film in a row which had grossed over 400 crores at the box office.

Strong Performance in Tamil Nadu and Overseas

The mass entertainer The Goat Movie has collected ₹220 crore from Tamil Nadu and is one of the biggest grossers in the state. International markets also gave in to the film, collecting ₹157 crore for the movie. The science fiction premise of the film is not very successful in the Indian market and had mostly received mixed reactions; it was the fan love for the actor that conquered these geographies as well.

Vijay Scores Another Milestone

All this notwithstanding, the film remained a thunderous hit at the box office, as it became the 5th biggest grosser in Kollywood’s history, after 2.0, Jailer, Leo, and Ponniyin Selvan 1.
