No Trivikram Film Till 2027: Fans Brace for a Long Wait

Trivikram Srinivas, the ace narrator of a few Telugu cinema blockbusters, appears to be taking an extended sabbatical from the director’s armchair. Following Guntur Kaaram’s release in January 2024, his next venture was eagerly anticipated by fans — a big-budget historical drama with Allu Arjun. But current indications are that Trivikram’s next work may take till 2027, leaving his fans in the dark.

The Long Wait After Guntur Kaaram

More than a year has passed since the release of Guntur Kaaram, but Trivikram is still deep into scriptwork and pre-production for his next film. Originally, the project with Allu Arjun was set to go on floors shortly, but something else happened. With Allu Arjun now obligated to a film with top director Atlee, Trivikram’s project has been pushed further along the timeline.

Allu Arjun’s Packed Schedule Postpones Trivikram’s Plans

According to the initial plan, Allu Arjun and Trivikram’s fourth film was supposed to start this year. But Allu Arjun’s increasing popularity and packed schedule changed the plans. Following the huge success of Pushpa: The Rise, the actor turned into a pan-Indian sensation, and he received several high-profile offers.

Now, Allu Arjun is giving preference to his film with Atlee, who has been delivering high-scale commercial entertainers. Sources indicate that Pushpa 2 will finish shortly after which the star will devote himself to Atlee’s film. As Atlee is known for big-scale productions, demanding long schedules and lot of preparation, Allu Arjun’s schedule is still filled to the brim and hence it is not possible for Trivikram to start his project anytime soon.

Trivikram’s Commitment to Allu Arjun

Trivikram’s commitment to his partnerships in the industry is something remarkable. Instead of looking for fresh faces for a brief project, the director is waiting with bated breath for Allu Arjun to complete his other engagements. This is, in itself, a laudable quality that has also stalled Trivikram’s creative efforts, with fans eagerly waiting for his next big-screen extravaganza.

The period drama they are going to make is Trivikram’s first attempt in this genre. With the enormous scale of the film, it requires rigorous pre-production, elaborate set designs, and top-of-the-line VFX. These kinds of films take time by default, especially when combined with an actor like Allu Arjun, whose dates are difficult to book.

Atlee’s Film Adds to the Delay

One other reason why there is a delay is the directorial style of Atlee. The director has a reputation for creating massive visuals and action-based stories that need to be shot and worked on for months. Also, Atlee’s next film with Allu Arjun is known to be a single-star project, which means Bunny will have to spend most of his time working on this movie alone.

Because Allu Arjun can’t shoot two major-budget movies at the same time, Trivikram’s film will only go ahead when Atlee’s movie is almost done. Even when Trivikram starts his movie towards the end of 2026, the project’s complexity — joined by the requirement of intricate VFX work — means that it may not release until 2027 or early 2028.

What This Means for Trivikram’s Fans

For Trivikram followers, the huge gap between movies is disappointing. Having been always consistent in providing hits with heroes such as Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, and Allu Arjun, the director has become one with quality entertainment. But this long wait makes people question whether he will lose steam or return stronger with a cinematic gem.

On the positive side, the prolonged pre-production might mean that Trivikram is carefully working on a magnum opus and each frame is being done according to his vision. With Trivikram’s storytelling skills and Allu Arjun’s star power, there’s a potential for a blockbuster that may redefine Telugu cinema.

The Road Ahead

As things stand, the Trivikram-Allu Arjun project may only start rolling in 2026, with a tentative release in late 2027 or even 2028. Until then, Trivikram’s fans will have to wait patiently, hoping that the time spent perfecting the script and planning pays off in a grand cinematic experience.

Kollywood and Tollywood followers alike will be keenly observing how this goes down. Meanwhile, Trivikram continues to lurk in the background, strategizing his next move. Only time will tell whether this extended hiatus will culminate in a landmark return.
