Dragon Roars at the Box Office: Day 2 Collections Soar

Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon (Return of the Dragon in Telugu) is box-office record-breaker. The film, having had a great opening, recorded a huge spike in collections on the second day. The Tamil film directed by Ashwath Marimuthu has beaten expectations, with heartening momentum across territories.

Dragon Sees Over 50% Growth on Day 2

On the first day, Dragon collected approximately ₹5.75 crore in the state of Tamil Nadu alone. On the second day, a tremendous jump took place, as collections in the state touched ₹9 crore, more than an increase of 50% on Day 1. The reviews and word of mouth for the film have worked in its favour to see a rapid growth in the box office.

Globally, Dragon raked in about ₹13 crore on the opening day. With initial signs of a close to ₹20 crore gross on Day 2, the film has already reached ₹50 crore mark in just two days. The film is cruising along at this pace to easily cross the ₹100 crore mark during its first weekend, and trade analysts have pegged the figure that it can even cross ₹150 crore in its full run.

Holiday Bump to Drive Collections to New Levels

With Maha Shivaratri around the corner, Dragon is poised to take yet another massive leap in collections. The Wednesday midweek holiday is expected to be a plus for the film, driving footfalls in cinemas. Trade analysts are of the opinion that if the momentum continues, Dragon would join the ₹100 crore club much sooner than expected.

The Tamil Nadu hit has its Telugu counterpart, Return of the Dragon, equally recording encouraging box office returns. The popularity of the movie and Pradeep Ranganathan’s rising stardom have made it an instant hit.

Dragon on Track to Be a Mega Blockbuster

AGS Entertainment’s big-budget venture has struck gold at the box office, with the audience and critics alike praising its engaging storyline, performances, and music. Starring Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, and Mariyan George in key roles, the movie boasts a solid cast and an intriguing plot.

Leon James’ songs have also played a major role in making the film popular, with most of them resonating with the audience. The filmmaking by Ashwath Marimuthu has been welcomed for its catchy script and mass appeal, and the movie has become a hit among family and youth audiences.

Can Dragon Cross ₹150 Crore?

With its excellent growth chart, the business is now thinking whether Dragon will reduce its run at ₹100 crore or break the ₹150 crore mark. If the film can continue its run after the first weekend, it can end up being among the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year.

The coming days will be important in gauging its long-term run, but until then, Dragon has certainly burned the box office and emerged as a massive box office hit.
