One of the greatest directors in Telugu cinema is Puri Jagannadh. He both directed disasters and created some of the biggest hits in Telugu movie history. The only other hit movie of Puri Jagannadh after Temper is iSmart Shankar. The public wants Puri to stop telling stories about drug dealers and gangsters and resume making movies in his unique retro style.
A movie like Liger offends even his cult lovers. Liger was the first to bring him a black mark. Puri Jagannadh promised to make up for the huge losses his distributors received, but he never did.
Buyers applied pressure before the launch of Double iSmart, and he was forced to return part of his losses. Niranjan Reddy, who acquired the entire theatrical rights of Double iSmart, lost around Rs 40 crores due to the film’s horrible performance.
The question is whether Puri Jagannadh would compensate for Niranjan Reddy’s massive loss, Double Ismart. Despite the fact that the agreement is non-refundable, Puri Jagannadh must reimburse a portion of the significant loss. At the very least, he should accept responsibility and cut the price of his next film, as other major production companies do. Otherwise, his credibility would suffer, and no one would be willing to pay for his next film.
