Hyderabad: In an unexpected move, the makers of Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani have decided to cancel the film’s planned direct OTT release and opt for a theatrical debut instead. The crime-comedy entertainer was initially scheduled to premiere on a digital platform, but the team has now shifted gears, expressing confidence in a big-screen release.
The decision reportedly came after positive internal screenings and encouraging feedback from industry insiders. The makers believe the film’s humor, performances, and engaging narrative will connect better with audiences in theatres.
The film features Sivaji in the lead role, alongside actress Laya and a supporting cast that includes several well-known comedians and character artists. Directed by Sudheer Sreeram, the project promises a blend of crime elements and situational comedy, aiming to appeal to family audiences as well.
Backing the theatrical release are producers Vamsi Nandipati and Bunny Vas, whose involvement has added momentum to the film’s promotional plans. With their support, the team is gearing up for an extensive publicity campaign ahead of its new release date.
The shift from OTT to theatres reflects the growing confidence among filmmakers in the theatrical market, especially for content-driven films that rely on audience engagement and word-of-mouth.
